From the cold land of Sweden emerges a DJ relatively unheard – until he turns up the levels.
Avicii initially broke onto the European scene with his single “Bromance” under the moniker of Tim Berg, which was celebrated across Europe and showed up on charts in multiple countries. With musical influence from Tiesto, Daft Punk and Laidback Luke, Tim Bergling AKA Avicii rapidly polished his own musical flavor and gained popularity.
On October 28, 2011 he made the most definitive move of his career thus far by officially releasing the already popular “Levels” which more or less owned radios worldwide for an entire year or more. The song uses samples from “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” by Etta James, which has been shown a good amount of love in the modern music world initially by Pretty Lights in 2006 and also by Flo Rida in their single “Good Feeling” which was produced by Avicii.
Since then, Avicii has played alongside names like Zedd, Porter Robinson and DJ Fresh. He recently released the song “2 Million” after reaching two million followers on Facebook. It put out as a free download on his official Soundcloud.
