Borgore is your mom’s worst nightmare (or her favorite DJ).
Asaf Borger is the mastermind who started using the genre-mashing “Gorestep” as his preferred way to refer to his music: a dirty raw version of dubstep that infused elements of horror films, sex and porno-remniscient imagery, and farm animals. Starting out in the death metal band Shabira in 2007, Borgore began to experiment with fellow bandmate Tomba and created the side project Alphamale Primates to create down and dirty dubstep. Moving into solo territory, Borgore began to release a series of mixtapes in 2009 detailing his incredible skills, and in the same year got picked up by Shift Recordings and released the Gorestep EP. This prompted the quick turnaround and release of his second EP, Borgore Ruined Dubstep, which contained the classic hit “Nympho” and pegs a point in his career in which he released his sexual energy onto the crowds. He followed up in the same year with four more EP’s on Audio Freaks, Trill Bass, as well his own label Buygore, which saw the release of Borgore Ruined Dubstep, Pt. 2. 2011 saw the Delicious EP and extended touring all over the world playing to sold out clubs and dancefloors.
Borgore has also promoted his fellow artists Bare Noize and Tomba via his Buygore label and continues to tour the world in 2012 while already having dropped the Decisions EP featuring Miley Cyrus on back up vocals and the Turn Up EP that dropped in October that year.
