Reigning from Los Angeles, California, 25-year-old Francis stormed onto the EDM scene as the Emperor of the moombahton genre. In 2010, he released his Swashbuckler EP on Play Me Records. He has since provided huge remixes for the likes of Flux Pavilion, Clockwork, Steve Aoki, and Zedd.
Early on, he started making dubstep tracks influenced by Rusko on Ableton Live while interning at Rowdy Records. He then discovered moombahton, and made it his purpose in life to link up with Diplo to gain further knowledge of the genre. Together they release “Que Que” which became an instant success.
Moombahton has gained a huge following in the EDM scene thanks to this young man. He has taken this genre across America on his Wet & Reckless Tour, opened for Nero on their Welcome Reality Tour, as well as British dubstep hero Flux Pavilion on his Standing On a Hill Tour.
2011 was a big year for Francis, as he released his second and third EPs, Westside! and Bossa Rocka.
In 2012, his Something, Something Awesome EP, released on OWSLA, setting news standard for moombahton.
Sure, his music fame is growing exponentially, but his internet fame is keeping up with that, if not surpassing it. Francis is known for “pissing off your Mom and Dad” on social media, posting cat pictures related to EDM (most notably the Knife Party artwork turned Cat Party), and reaming into businesses that do him wrong (sorry, Holiday Inn).
