The duo maintains the emotional edge of the original, while slowing things down even further, distorting the vocals, and adding some industrial elements that give it a heavier sound. Definitely keep an eye on these two.

First came Zedd, and now Mat Zo has put his unique spin on Empire of the Sun’s summer blockbuster hit, “Alive.” Zo’s take bears the distinct mark of his production work, from the carefully-crafted percussion to the larger-than-life melodic hooks. This one is sure to be a main-room staple for months to come.

Mashable got the scoop on the new video for “Singularity” by Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas, featuring My Name is Kay. In this eerie sci-fi video, Aoki and his pal Ray Kurzweil blur the line between humanity and technology as Steve is transformed into a cyborg against his will. The singularity is near, people!

Dusky’s deep remix of Close’s tune “My Way” featuring singer Joe Dukie was premiered on B. Trait’s BBC 1 Radio show last night, and believe us: it’s a keeper. The duo dial up the BPM and add a healthy dose of tech flavor to the retro-leaning original.

The debut album from Close, Getting Closer, is out June 10. The My Way single, featuring this remix along with versions from Midland and Tanner Ross, is due June 24.

Sometimes you just have the urge to get up and dance – especially when a Daft Punk song is playing. Magic Machines remixed the first track on Daft’s new album, Random Access Memories, and made this sweet video to go along with it. Join in the fun and dance, dance, dance as Daft Punk and Magic Machines “Give Life Back to Music.”

The Knocks’ track “Modern Hearts” is already one of our favorite summer tunes, and it’s just been given a fresh new sound thanks to AMTRAC. He transforms the track with a funky house feel, adding groovy synths, crisp hats, and a bouncing drumbeat you can’t help but dance to.

The remix was featured on The Knocks’ Modern Hearts – The Remixes EP that also includes treatments from Goldroom, Fareoh, and Treasure Fingers among others. You can scoop up the EP and the individual tracks over on Beatport.

Experimental future-bass duo Mount Kimbie continue to chart new territory with “You Took Your Time,” the third single from their sophomore album Cold Spring Fault Less Youth.

It was impossible to guess where they’d go next after hearing the skronky groove of “Blood and Form” follow the militaristic, dancefloor-ready “Made to Stray,” and though “You Took Your Time” is more immediately recognizable as the work of this group, it’s far from a retread of past ideas.

The new track isn’t as much of a stylistic departure from Crooks & Lovers as the other two lead singles, but King Krule’s biting, grimey vocals paired with live instrumentation add an extra dimension of emotional urgency on top of the warm, post-James Blake synth pads.

Cold Spring Fault Less Youth is out May 28 in the U.S. via Warp Records.
