The video opens to a group of kids making a mad dash from a building, but as it turns out, they’re running toward something and not away.
The pack is led with ferocity by a man with a huge bazooka-style weapon. As he takes aim and looks to the sky, the battle erupts.
The wild-eyed waste-landers, armed with very untraditional weapons to say the least, charge at each other Braveheart-style and meet in the center to create a human tie-dye machine. What seem to be guns and grenades at first are used to paint the other side in technicolor with the energetic and happy vibes found in “The City”.
The video encapsulates the energy of beating feet out of school for the first day of summer and wasting absolutely no time celebrating. Check back for the full video when it’s released, and watch the whole story develop.
The DJZ/10 is a collection of ten DJs that we think you should know about now. Some of them are already familiar to you, others you may have never heard of. The list is not based on (1) a secret computer algorithm, (2) social media popularity, or (3) payola. Every month or so we get together to decide if somebody from the broader A…Z directory is about to break out and should be included in the DJZ/10, or if somebody already on the list, for that matter, is “phoning it in” and deserved to be replaced by another DJ who is more worthy.×
