If there’s one thing we can count on from the Daft Punk rumor mill, it’s that any juicy piece of gossip will always immediately be followed by its exact opposite.

Case in point: Bestival organizer Rob da Bank claims he’s got the scoop from people in the know about Daft Punk’s tour plans. “There’s all kinds of crazy rumours flying about at the moment about Daft Punk at Coachella, and The Rolling Stones playing Glastonbury. We got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumour mill going.”

After this quote picked up steam online, Rob tweeted the following:

id take it with a large pinch of salt…i dont even think Daft Punk know whether theyre touring next year! dont shoot the messenger

Shortly thereafter, we DP fans were treated to yet another festival rumor: an official-looking leak of the line-up for Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival in May. The flyer claims Daft Punk will be there, alongside Major Lazer, Flying Lotus, Rustie, Four Tet, and just about every hip-hop and indie rock act you could ask for at a festival this year.

Dear Daft Punk: You could easily end all of these rumors. Just please, please tell us what your plans are for 2013. Don’t make us beg.
