It happens to the best of all artists. We can’t say we’re mad, but A$AP Rocky’s album LONG.LIVE.A$AP, which drops on Jan 15, was leaked on the interwebs a month early. The most gripping collab on the album is with none other than Skrillex. The track “Wild For The Night” is a heavy rap jam, but with Skrillex’s electronic twist it proves to be the ultimate club banger. The beat is an amplified version of Skrillex’s “Goin Down” extended mix of Birdy Nam Nam’s “Goin In.” However, this time, we get A$AP’s heavy rap game thrown in the mix.
[UPDATE: The record's label has been pretty vigilant about wiping streams from the web, so we have no audio for you here.]
The intermixing of electronic music with trap is obviously gaining more and more popularity, and it’s great to see the biggest names in EDM working with one of the brightest stars in rap. Make sure to pre-order the album on iTunes.
The DJZ/10 is a collection of ten DJs that we think you should know about now. Some of them are already familiar to you, others you may have never heard of. The list is not based on (1) a secret computer algorithm, (2) social media popularity, or (3) payola. Every month or so we get together to decide if somebody from the broader A…Z directory is about to break out and should be included in the DJZ/10, or if somebody already on the list, for that matter, is “phoning it in” and deserved to be replaced by another DJ who is more worthy.×
